This video is kinda dark and fuzzy, but I was trying to capture Mason singing as we were going to bed. We have a nightly routine where we sing about 4 different songs and I rub his back. His favorite is "Twinkle, Twinkle". Even though it's hard to see, you can get the idea...
It all started around 9:30 last night on our way home. MacKenzie had a bloody nose...a really BAD bloody nose. She's been having bloody noses since she was about 2 years old, but they have progressively gotten worse. Last night was by far the worst yet. It took us at least 45 minutes to get it to stop...so we had a late night. This morning she woke up and was perfectly fine. We went to school like always, but then they called me twice and said she was complaining that her tummy and ear hurt. Now, MacKenzie is a bit of a drama queen, so I never know what to believe...and since her regular teacher was out today, I thought she may have been putting on an "act" for the fill-in teacher. But, I went to get her and she definitely wasn't herself. I immediately went to the pediatrician to see if they could work us in. The doctor looked at her ears and sure enough...she had an ear infection. I then told him about the bloody noses, and he decided we needed to see an ENT about the nose bleeds. So now she's on antibiotics for the ears and saline spray to help control the nose bleeds until we can get an appoitment with the ENT! To make matters worse, we were supposed to have a play date with our neighbors up the street and we had to cancel! So sad....oh well...hopefully she'll be feeling like herself before the weekend!
Oh yeah, and after all that, MAMA IS EXHAUSTED!!!
My younger cousin graduated from Brevard High School on Saturday and we had a family cookout and get together afterwards. We had a great time hanging out with family and enjoying the great summertime weather. We are all very proud of Nathan as he sets out for his great next adventure...playing baseball at Appalachian State! Go Mountaineers! Congratulations, Nate, we love you!

Mason has become a little fish this summer in the pool. He loves it and has no fear when it comes to the water. He's jumping and swimming quite well for a 2 year old. He's even doing better than MacKenzie who is quite the girlie girl in the pool. She doesn't want to get her hair wet and she's very careful around the water. She has just recently started swimming with only her swimmies and is still somewhat timid. And don't even ask her to jump in the pool...she will quite frankly say NO!! Here's a video that shows just how different boys and girls can be especially when it comes to their fealessness...
until I actually turned 30! I don't know what 30 is "supposed" to look or feel like, but I don't "feel" 30! Besides isn't 30 the new 20?!! Seriously, I really can't complain about 30...I have a FABULOUS husband...2 great children...an incredible family...and FANTASTIC friends that mean the world to me! To celebrate, a bunch of us went out on Saturday for dinner and then to the Cafe and Then Some for "Obama Mia". It was so funny! We all laughed so hard...regardless of political affliations. Thanks to everyone who came out to celebrate!
