What an emotional rollercoaster this day has been! I think I've been dreading this day for weeks, but I couldn't delay the inevitable...MacKenzie started her first day of kindergarten!! All four of us headed to her school this morning to drop her off. Her teachers, Mrs. Welborn and Mrs. Harrison, were waiting on them in the auditorium where we said our good-byes. MacKenzie didn't look back, but mom was a little hesitant! When I picked her up, I found out she had a fantastic day! I, on the other hand, was a nervous wreck all day! She couldn't stop talking about all the wonderful things they did today included reading the book "Chicka Chicka Boom Boom" and going on an alphabet hunt. She also got to play in the gym and she ate the school lunch, which she thought was excellent. She told me that her lunch was kinda like dinner...(I'm not sure what that says about my cooking!)
And, not to leave Mason out, he started his first day of 3K yesterday, but I forgot to take pictures of him yesterday, so he got in the action today!

I am soooo thankful that she had a great first day, but I'm so glad it's over. Maybe now I can get some rest because I am pooped!

The (Un)Official End of Summer...
Our summer is unofficially over as I started back to work today after a WONDERFUL 10 weeks off! We had an absolute ball and I enjoyed every minute of it. I feel extremely blessed to have a job now that has allowed me to stay at home during the summer and spend it with my children. I also am equally blessed with a husband who worked extra hard this summer to make it financially possible for me to stay home. Thanks Jarrod for your hard work!
As the summer ends, a new chapter also begins. Tomorrow, MacKenzie starts kindergarten and although I know it's a good thing, I cry every time I think about it. I can't believe she's growing up so fast!! Mason started his new 3K class today which is also hard to believe. I'm really excited about his class though because he has some of our favorite teachers, Ms. Lulu and Ms. Lori! They were MacKenzie's 3K teachers and we LOVE THEM!!
So, even though I'm saying good bye to the Summer of 2010, I won't soon forget some of my favorite memories:(in no particular order)
1. swimming, swimming, and more swimming (and one of the best tans I've ever had)!
2. late nights and better yet, late mornings!
3. playing "school" and being amazed at what my children have learned
4. "picnics" at the pool
5. Florida trip to see my mom with just me, my sister and the kids
6. free movie days
7. story & craft time at the library
8. Isle of Palms!
9. water park
10. Cow Appreciation Day!
11. Our day trip to Brevard to see my Mimi and throw rocks in the river!
12. Just relaxing, hanging out, and having fun!
And my favorite quote of the summer:
MacKenzie: "Daddy...you have to go to work to make money"
Mason: "No, Daddy, you have to go to work so Mommy can spend money!!"
And some random pictures from the summer...
